Wow is it time already to have a SMS Giveaway? It seems to creep up on me each time, well I am distracted. Good thing I was planning to do a giveaway already and have things ready. Not to distract from Sew Mama Sew giveaway day, but tomorrow is my BIRTHDAY! I have decided I stopped aging at 40. I wont tell you how old I am, but I have been this age for 5 years now.
Any way who cares about B-day and who what ever other reason we want to have a giveaway, lets just get on with it. Our giveaway consists of a ruler, mat, cutting knife, and 8 fat quarters.
So what do you have to do to enter? Simple, tell me what you did (or would do) on your 45th B-day! As for me, my 18 year old son is taking me to lunch and a movie. If that is not enough for a B-day what should I do or should have done (if you enter after my b-day passes). Giveaway is open tell may 18th as per the guidelines of SMS.
For those of you that have not just skipped to the bottom,I have extra prizes available if you want to give a little effort too it. I sell a few patterns on Craftsy If you visit craftsy and leave a nice comment on any of my patterns (and leave a extra comment for a bonus entry into our giveaway) I will email you the pattern of your choice. Windows Quilt, Rag Quilt, Diagonal Quilt, and Pinwheel Quilt are some of the more popular, but there are many others. Each comment on Craftsy (and here) gives you a extra entry and a free pattern.
After getting done here, you can find more giveaways on the listing at Sew Mama Sew Site where there are fabric and product giveaways.
Oh hey Richard, what a great giveaway package!! And a very happy birthday too!! (Let's just say I've been there for more than five years and leave it at that, ok?) LOL.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Richard! I can't remember what I did for my 45th. I like to think it involved ice cream! Hope yours does too!
ReplyDeletehappy birthday :)
ReplyDeleteWell 45 was too many years ago to remember what I did, but my Birthday was on the first of May and I can tell you what I did for my 59th! i took all my coupons to Joann's Fabric and had a ball with my birthday money.
ReplyDeletethanks for having the giveaway!

Happy Birthday!!!
ReplyDeleteMy 45th was last year and I spent the day working. LOL
We don't really do a whole lot for birthdays around here. I did have a Black Forest Cake made for my birthday, so I guess that was the 1 gift I received.
Happy bday! And thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! I'm not sure what I'd want to do for my 45th b-day. Maybe a nice dinner?
ReplyDeletetinaotherworld (at) yahoo (dot) com
Happy May Birthday! I don't remember back that far - more than likely I was probably sitting at a high school baseball game (my kids would be that old then).
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday for tomorrow. My birthday was today and next year I'll hopefully be doing the exact same for my 45th as I did today - a lazy morning, an afternoon playdate with my best frineds so the kiddies can play and the mummies can celebrate with some bubbles and nibbles and then once the little ones are gone to bed my traditional birthday diner of a leisurely fondue bourguignonne with my hubbie.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! I'd definitely eat some chocolate cake! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely giveaway guys!!! I can't remember what I did on my 45th!!! Lol
ReplyDeleteit was too long ago!!! Hahaha. I think doing what you are doing with your son is wonderful!!!!

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Richard. I can't remember what I did on my 45th but I'm sure we went out to dinner. Thanks for the lovely giveaway.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...my memory is a little sketchy back that far, lol, but I am sure my dear hubby and son took me out to dinner! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI haven't thought that far. Maybe go away for the weekend with hubby.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I can't remember what I did on my 45th birthday as that was 10 years ago! Your plan sounds fun though!
ReplyDeleteI really love your plusplus quilt pattern.
ReplyDeleteHmm, for my 45th birthday I would hope that my husband would be taking me out for a nice meal somewhere, just the two of us :)
ReplyDeletekais2727@yahoo.com
I really love the chevron baby quilt pattern.
ReplyDeleteI think a spa day would be perfect for a 45th birthday!
ReplyDeleteDinner and a good movie with a special person always wins. crystalbluern at onlineok dot com

Can 't remember what I did but I am certain I had fun! Oh to be 45 again!
ReplyDeletePretty sure I got together with my sisters and went shopping. We try to do that every year for our birthday.
ReplyDeleteHappy B-Day! My 45th was so long ago, I just don't remember. But, I know we were living on an island in the gulf of Mexico at the time so I'm sure it must have involved the beach!
ReplyDeleteI like the look of the Chevron baby quilt....I'll have a new grandson in August & this would come in real handy!
ReplyDeletegreat giveaway items
ReplyDeleteWonderful giveaway!!! I am sure I spent it with my family laughing and eating. Thanks for the opportunity...
ReplyDeletejeanieheath@charter.net
I commented on Craftsy
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Richard, and thank you for the giveaway. It has been quite a while since I was your age so I really don't remember what I did. My oldest grandson was about three at the time so I am pretty sure there was cake and ice-cream involved.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I honestly don't remember what I did for my 45th birthday, but I'll tell you what I did for 50. Several of us who were all turning 50 in the same year donned tiaras and went out for dinner. We had such a great time that we have made it an annual event, and invite new inductees to join us, so long as they wear a tiara too.
ReplyDelete45 is 15 birthdays away for me, but I'll say travelling with my family! Somewhere warm, maybe (I'm from Canada :)
ReplyDeleteI think what I will be doing for my 45th is going to eat at a swanky expensive restaurant and then coming home and resting from my food coma, browsing blogs and hanging out with the hubs! thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI can't even remeber what I did on my 45th birthday. I remember going away for my 40th. ;-)
ReplyDeletehappy birthday! I haven't made it to 45 yet but I hope that I celebrate that birthday with my children!
ReplyDeletehmmmmm Not sure what I would do for 45, I am just recovering from 40!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the Helix pattern - it looks so modern!
ReplyDeleteI love the Helix pattern - it looks so modern!
ReplyDeleteFor my 45th, I hope to be in Vegas, kidless for the weekend, having a blast with my girlfriends!! WOOT!
ReplyDeletehonestly, I never had a 40th nor a 45th birthday. I am not exaggerating one bit. The day before both those birthdays, I got on a plane and headed across the Pacific toward New Zealand. Since you must cross the international date line enroute, you have to advance a day. Well, that day that we so blatantly skipped over on both trips, happened to be my birthday. Got on the plane on the 6th, got off on the 8th. The 7th, my birthday, just never existed for me. i highly recommended this type of birthday, it's great for conversations for years afterward. Hope you have a terrific day.
ReplyDeleteHaven't made it that far yet, but I hope to spend it in some new place I've never been
ReplyDeleteI am only 31 :)

Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteI have not yet achieved 45, however, I think lunch and a movie sound great. Perhaps with ice cream or cake after?
I honestly do not remember what I did on my 45th birthday but I do remember my 50th. My son was married the day before in South Carolina and we were on our way home. My birthday dinner was on the patio of the TGIFriday's in Gatlinburg. It was a wonderful weekend and a lovely wedding.
ReplyDeleteI've got 19 years to plan ;) I think a pedicure and a dq blizzard sound amazing though
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! it's been 16 almost 17 years since my 45th so I honestly don't remember what I did. I think your son taking you out to lunch and a movie is a great way to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, I believe I spent my 45th with friends at the lake
ReplyDeleteI commented on the Windows quilt.
ReplyDeleteAlso commented on 25 Squared, it's so cute!
ReplyDeleteFor my 45th birthday I will eat nothing but cake and ice cream all day. I will wear a crown and ask to be addressed as Her Majesty the Awesomeness.
ReplyDeleteI still have a few years, but probably stay home and sew! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteOn my 45th birthday I was back in my home town, staying with my best friend, where we celebrated by going to a quilt shop, eating a very special birthday cake, and then going to see the Beatrix Potter movie. Girly, girly, girly and I loved it.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, the best birthday's have a great workout (hike, bike, run, or swim) and beer and icecream!
ReplyDeleteI am not usually a bday person. I am having a hard time remembering what I did for my 45th. Actually I don't remember what I did for my 50th...is that maybe a sign of things to come.
ReplyDeleteI am pretty sure I would have an amazing dinner, drinks and then dancing! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love birthdays but I don't love cooking..so I'd be asking my hubby to cook me a lovely meal and do the washing up too!
ReplyDeleteMine was just 9 months ago and I think I had to work that day and ended up cooking a steak at home. It was super tasty though!
ReplyDeletecrystoll (at) aol (dot) com
Happy Birthday. I can't remember what I did on my 45th. I don't even remember my 57th. Great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!! I can't remember that long ago but I probably had dinner with my 4 children and made my own cake. Hopefully you have a happy day,
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Richard! Not sure I remember what I did for my 45th birthday, but I remember my sweet hubby gave me a ring for that year. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! I still have quite a few years before my 45th birthday, but I think I'd like to spend the day with my family and friends enjoying a nice looong slow lunch together. :)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is only 2.5 now, but she'll be 18 when I turn 45. Wow! I hope she also takes me out to lunch and a movie!
ReplyDeleteI would have a girl's weekend in wine country! :) coralbunnyandlo [at] gmail [dot] com
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday and I commented on a couple of quilts on Craftsy. :)
ReplyDeleteI think the gift of your son's presence is a fabulous way to spend a birthday…once they leave, there is so little precious time with them…enjoy, and Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteI commented on your great chevron quilt on Craftsy!
ReplyDeleteYour quilts are amazing! You've made so many, I can't imagine such dedication. Very generous of you to give away craftsy patterns too, I'm just not sure that I would be able to tackle some of those.
ReplyDeleteBuy 45 fat quarters!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday. When I turn 45 I hope to go out for dinner with my family.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday!
ReplyDeleteI have ten years to go to 45 but I hope I will get to celebrate it just like all my latest birthdays, with a picnic on the living room floor, good music, good food, and my daughter who will hopefully have emerged from teenage woes :)
I'm kind of lame- I like to celebrate special days with a nap. Haha.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I love the half square triangle pattern from Craftsy - I just might be able to finish it :)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! I would have a nice dinner with family and then eat a decadent chocolate cupcake :)
ReplyDeleteHoly smokes, Richard, you want me to remember what I did 14 years ago on my birthday? Not sure, but cake was probably involved. Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to you! Since today IS my 45th birthday, I do not know yet what i will do. Yoga is definitely on in 20 minutes at my friend's place.
ReplyDeleteehodasz at yahoo dot com
Happy Birthday Richard!
ReplyDeleteI still have 10 years to go… but I think I will celebrate (hope anyway) with my family and friends here at home :-)
Happy Birthday! My favorite birthday present would be fabric shopping without having to pay but I doubt my husband would risk that ;-) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love your Plusplus pattern. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I've got a few years to go yet, but I'm planning on a party for my 40th - lots of friends, food and wine!
ReplyDeleteI can't remember what I did on my 45th (it was too long ago) but I'm looking forward to a family dining out experience next birthday. I've put my order in early so they've time to prepare and arrange to get together all on the same day.
ReplyDeleteThe Chevron Baby Quilt is very pretty. A nice combination of white and color.
ReplyDeletewendyhatton434707
Your rag quilt is another favorite of mine.
ReplyDeletewendyhatton434707
Apparently my 45th was not all that memorable. I think lunch and a movie is nicely adequate as long as YOU get to pick the movie.
ReplyDelete(I didn't just skip to the bottom ;-) )
I have a few years to figure it out. There will definitely be chocolate cake involved.
ReplyDeleteI am 40 now and I think I want to sit eternally at 40. Hubbys father was 50 for about 20 years ...lol. When i do turn 45 I would love to do a cruise
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday!! I am edging up to the big 4-0 - not sure I want to think about 45 yet. Probably a nice dinner, something that is hard to do with babies
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! I'm still a few years off from 45, but I hope that I get to spend that day like I always want to spend my birthday -- out hiking or biking someplace beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday. By 45 I was just hoping to spend a quiet birthday with family. Thanks for the great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI hope to spend my 45th surrounded by friends and family (and if I'm in our cabin in the mountains of NC-- which we don't have yet-- lol!-- I wouldn't be upset about that either). Happy Bday to you!!
ReplyDeleteYour patterns are great. I personally like the Chevron quilt. It's my kind of scrappy quilt.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Richard. I would tell you what I did on my 45th birthday but that was so many years ago I have not the slightest idea. Probably nothing spectacular. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteA happy birthday to you. Thanks for the great giveaway. My 45th is next year..I hope to do some sewing, and maybe a little dipping my feet in a creek somewhere to cool off..summers are always hot here :)
ReplyDeleteA full day of uninterrupted sewing. Cindy bluemoonstencils@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteLove the story of how you started quilting. The diagonal quilt pattern is my favorite. Maybe its because of your fabrics. Hunting them down now. Would like to have the pattern. Thank you, Cindy bluemoonstencils@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! My kids will be 10 and 8 when I turn 45... hopefully they still like me and will take me to lunch.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what I'll do for my 45th birthday, but that day out with your son sounds like a lovely start! Perhaps finish it off with a trip to a quilt shop you've always wanted to visit?
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to tell the truth I cant remember back that far as to what I did on my 45th birthday.
ReplyDeleteLove the rag quilt on Craftsy
ReplyDeletehey Richard, happy b'day, i dont know what i will do in my 45th b'day, probably go out for dinner with family , i will tell you what my mum did at her 45 b'day, she tried skating and totally luved it. would luv to win your giveaway.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Since I am 19, my 45th birthday is a little far away but I think I would just go out to dinner and see a movie too. Or maybe I will do something crazy and adventurous! Who knows!?
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday - life's too short to wait just celebrate it however you like.
ReplyDeleteLovely giveaway! I just had my 35th birthday and enjoyed spending time with my kids and husband, so I think I'd just like that when I'm 45 as well!
ReplyDeleteI really like your Windows Quilt, and I left a comment up on Craftsy. It looks fab!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Given that I am about to turn 30 and have to very active little boys, I can't imagine anything better than sleeping in for my 45th birthday. (Sleep... glorious sleep!) I hope you have a wonderful outing with your son.
ReplyDeleteI left a comment on your 25 Squared Quilt Pattern. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm a ways off of my 45th but I'm guessing I'll want to have a nice meal with my family and sew uninterrupted for the rest of the day. :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to take a cruise with the girls! I'm thinking a three day weekend, umbrella drinks and big floppy sun hats out by the pool!
ReplyDeleteI turned 45 in year 2009. that was a rough year for me as My Dad passed away in January and a beloved pet passed away three months later. I did not do much that year as I was worried about my mother and was grieving the loss of my father.
ReplyDeleteThank you for a chance to win!
Happy Happy Birthday! I'd like a quiet day in the backyard with a good book and some fresh lemonade.
ReplyDeleteI wish you the happiest birthday ever Richard
ReplyDeleteI would do the same on my birthday, a day out not thinking of any house keeping nor cooking, that would be a great birthday for me ^_^
I commented on Craftsy too, on color blast pattern again!
That pattern is awesome with all of those colors, so vibrant, I love it!
Happy Birthday! I turned 39 this year so I don't have much longer until 45 creeps up on me. Not sure what I would do. I usually don't do much for my birthday so I'm afraid I can't be of much help.
ReplyDeletestorybookfelts at gmail dot com
I would like to run a marathon, but maybe for my 40th
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! 45 is a ways away for me, so I have no idea what I'll do for that birthday.
ReplyDeleteI commented on your pinwheels pattern on Craftsy!
ReplyDeletei went skydiving for my 30th birthday, so maybe that?
ReplyDeletewell happy birthday! I tend to ignore birthdays. My next big one will be 40 so i'll probably celebrate that, then go back to ignoring them. i think the thing to do on birthdays is WHATEVER you want. If that's sewing, sew, if it's going out, go out, if it's singing into a hairbrush wearing nothing but your underwear, then do that!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! My 30th birthday is coming up this year, which I think will be the last birthday I have. =)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!!
I'm only 14 so it's a long time till my 45th birthday.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to sleep in and then spend the rest of the day with family!
ReplyDeleteYou should spend the day doing just what makes you feel happy. I'm guessing it might be quilting?
ReplyDeleteMy 45th birthday???? What!! I can't remember yesterday and you're asking me about something that was years ago!! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I'll be 34 this summer. Hard to imagine what life will be like 11 years from now. I hope my kids still enjoy spending time with me then! My daughter and I share a birthday. Wow, she will be turning 20 when I turn 45. I hope we can spend the day together.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Richard! My Richard has a birthday in a couple weeks. :) He is turning 38. For my 45th birthday I would like to do something fun with my friends- hanging out, eating, etc. :)
ReplyDeleteI left a comment on your
ReplyDelete25 Squared Quilt Pattern. It looks really impressive and I don't know the best way to work with so many small pieces like that or how to do the borders - sashing?
I would love to go to lunch and see a movie, sounds like the perfect birthday treat and what great company you have :) Wishing you a happy birthday. (I also stopped counting after 40, life begins at 40, so I'm a toddler right now)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway, Richard, thanks! Happy Birthday, too! Wow, 45 is so long ago, I have to just guess that my husband brought me flowers and fixed my favorite dinner for me. That's what he often did. =)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! For 45 I'd love a California wine tasting trip!
ReplyDeleteI can't remember specifically but we were visiting Atlanta, GA at the time, so maybe I was at World of Coca Cola or the Georgia Aquarium.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!! When I'm 45 I hope to be able to spend the day with my kids as well :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. I would love to go on a wonderful trip for my 45th birthday.

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Id say a fun trip is in order!
ReplyDelete45th birthday…and most of the other ones past 20 were spent drinking margaritas on the rocks. ROFL!
ReplyDeleteI don't even remember, guess it wasn't that momentous for me!
ReplyDeleteI left a comment on your Windows quilt.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Richard! I'm a May baby too! I'm a little over halfway to 45 so I would say...dinner and dancing with my husband?
ReplyDeleteI'm ten years past that age. My daughter threw a surprise party for me when I turned 40. ;) Sweet memories.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance.
I love Giveaways, and so for my birthday in June I will be having a big giveaway birthday too! Otherwise my husband always forgets so I have to treat myself to what it is I want :)

ReplyDeleteI commented on the pinwheel quilt.
ReplyDeleteAnd I also commented on the Windows Quilt. Thanks for all the chances!!
ReplyDeleteI think your current plans sound pretty great!
ReplyDeleteI'd watch White Collar and eat chocolate!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had mine yet, but since it is in February and Michigan is always dreary and gray, I would probably get a large white chocolate mocha, curl up under a quilt, and watch a tv series. Such a party animal!
ReplyDeleteOh my, 45 was a long time ago! I'm sure I had a good time...whatever I did. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your Pinwheel pattern!
ReplyDeleteFor any birthday, my favorite thing is to go somewhere like a ballet, concert, opera, etc. with my husband, so I hope I can do that on my 45th as well! Thanks for the generous giveaway! sarah@forrussia.org
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that my 45th is spent somewhere luxurious and relaxing, but it will most likely be full of 3 teenage boys.
ReplyDeleteI think lunch and a movie with your son is a super way to spend your birthday. Add in some fancy chocolate or cake just because those are always good at a celebration.
ReplyDeleteI don't know but for my 50th this year I eat lunch with family in a tiny little diner. The only one in Salt Rock it has been open and closed for about 75 years. It was fun! Happy Birthday my friend!
ReplyDeleteI left a comment for PlusPlus I would love this one! I have followed since the beginning.
ReplyDeleteI would love to go on a cruise for my 45th birthday!
ReplyDeleteamy.forkner(at)gmail(dot)com
Oh to be45 again m happy birthday to you . It is too long ago to remember what I did but I love being treated to a meal out so your son has the right idea . Thanks for the chance ,
ReplyDeleteDid you know that if you don't celebrate your birthday you won't get any older. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
ReplyDeleteI stopped at my 39th but I had to get going again when my daughter celebrated her 39th too! Happy Birthday. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYour son is amazing. I have one like him. Happy Birthday! Thanks for the giveaway. I can't remember about my 45th I am sure it was great. I have a husband that spoils me.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! Honestly, I don't remember what I did on my 45th. Hubby thru me a surprise party for my 40th (while he was here and the kids and I were still in Tulsa, trying to sell our house). Hubby also threw me a surprise party (Superbowl Sunday party) on my 50th, last year. We still haven't had time to celebrate either of our birthdays this year. We'll get to them sometime this summer. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I still like having birthdays.
ReplyDeletemy kids baked me a cake. yum
ReplyDeletemy kids baked me a cake. yum
ReplyDeleteThat rag quilt is really cute!
ReplyDeleteI never actually turned 45, as it turns out. I was 29 for a few months (ok, a few decades), then I hit 50 and decided to have one of those birthday things every year :) I've taught my husband and children well - my birthday is celebrated with a steak dinner @ The Keg, plus I receive crafty gift cards and the annual "kiss on the cheek while wearing a growly face" from the boys :)
ReplyDeleteWe went out to dinner with family
ReplyDeleteHmm, 45 was not all that long ago but don't remember anything special. We always get to pick our birthday dinner and I usually pick steak. Years just don't mean that much to me-they are experience points!
ReplyDeleteI'd want to celebrate it with the people I love. Thanks for the lovely giveaway.
ReplyDeleteMy 45th is next year - my 4 best friends and I are going to Paris to celebrate with champagne, fabulous food and shopping. How wonderful are my besties
ReplyDeleteI hope I spend my 45th on a beach somewhere exotic and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Richard! I hope when I am 45 i can still have a good time with family and friends. Thanks for an awesome giveaway! Katiebabe1114@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI have no memory of my 45th birthday, so I am pretty sure it was simple. Probable dinner out at a local restaurant.
ReplyDeleteI plan on spending my 45th with my family, as I do on every birthday. :)
ReplyDeleteI commented on your rag quilt. :)
ReplyDeleteI hav e already passed it and we had a family picnic. Happy Birthday kathypersons@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! It was almost 20 years ago, but I'm pretty sure my husband took me out to dinner for my 45th birthday. Thanks for the generous giveaway.

ReplyDelete45? I will be celebrating with my husband, preferably on holiday somewhere hot, with good food and a glass of wine and as many friends as possible.
Happy Birthday Richard! Hope you have a fabulous day with your son. I can't remember my 45th but I'm sure it involved friends family and cake. Love your Plusplus quilt. Thank you for the giveaway.
