Thanks so much! I love the half square triangle pattern from Craftsy - I just might be able to finish it :)

Wow is it time already to have a SMS Giveaway?  It seems to creep up on me each time, well I am distracted.  Good thing I was planning to do a giveaway already and have things ready.  Not to distract from Sew Mama Sew giveaway day, but tomorrow is my BIRTHDAY!   I have decided I stopped aging at 40.  I wont tell you how old I am, but I have been this age for 5 years now.

Any way who cares about B-day and who what ever other reason we want to have a giveaway, lets just get on with it.  Our giveaway consists of a ruler, mat, cutting knife, and 8 fat quarters.

So what do you have to do to enter? Simple, tell me what you did (or would do) on your 45th B-day!  As for me, my 18 year old son is taking me to lunch and a movie.  If  that is not enough for a B-day what should I do or should have done (if you enter after my b-day passes).    Giveaway is open tell may 18th as per the guidelines of SMS.

For those of you that have not just skipped to the bottom,I have extra prizes available if you want to give a little effort too it. I sell a few patterns on Craftsy  If you visit craftsy and leave a nice comment on any of my patterns (and leave a extra comment for a bonus entry into our giveaway) I will email you the pattern of your choice.  Windows Quilt, Rag Quilt, Diagonal Quilt, and Pinwheel Quilt are some of the more popular, but there are many others.  Each comment on Craftsy (and here) gives you a extra entry and a free pattern.

After getting done here, you can find more giveaways on the listing at Sew Mama Sew Site where there are fabric and product giveaways.

  1. Oh hey Richard, what a great giveaway package!! And a very happy birthday too!! (Let's just say I've been there for more than five years and leave it at that, ok?) LOL.

  4. Happy Birthday!!!
My 45th was last year and I spent the day working. LOL
We don't really do a whole lot for birthdays around here. I did have a Black Forest Cake made for my birthday, so I guess that was the 1 gift I received.

  7. Happy May Birthday! I don't remember back that far - more than likely I was probably sitting at a high school baseball game (my kids would be that old then).

  8. Happy birthday for tomorrow. My birthday was today and next year I'll hopefully be doing the exact same for my 45th as I did today - a lazy morning, an afternoon playdate with my best frineds so the kiddies can play and the mummies can celebrate with some bubbles and nibbles and then once the little ones are gone to bed my traditional birthday diner of a leisurely fondue bourguignonne with my hubbie.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Happy birthday! I'd definitely eat some chocolate cake! :)

  29. Happy Birthday! I honestly don't remember what I did for my 45th birthday, but I'll tell you what I did for 50. Several of us who were all turning 50 in the same year donned tiaras and went out for dinner. We had such a great time that we have made it an annual event, and invite new inductees to join us, so long as they wear a tiara too.

    ReplyDelete
  38. honestly, I never had a 40th nor a 45th birthday. I am not exaggerating one bit. The day before both those birthdays, I got on a plane and headed across the Pacific toward New Zealand. Since you must cross the international date line enroute, you have to advance a day. Well, that day that we so blatantly skipped over on both trips, happened to be my birthday. Got on the plane on the 6th, got off on the 8th. The 7th, my birthday, just never existed for me. i highly recommended this type of birthday, it's great for conversations for years afterward. Hope you have a terrific day.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Haven't made it that far yet, but I hope to spend it in some new place I've never been

    ReplyDelete
  43. I honestly do not remember what I did on my 45th birthday but I do remember my 50th. My son was married the day before in South Carolina and we were on our way home. My birthday dinner was on the patio of the TGIFriday's in Gatlinburg. It was a wonderful weekend and a lovely wedding.

    ReplyDelete
  51. On my 45th birthday I was back in my home town, staying with my best friend, where we celebrated by going to a quilt shop, eating a very special birthday cake, and then going to see the Beatrix Potter movie. Girly, girly, girly and I loved it.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  108. Happy Birthday! I turned 39 this year so I don't have much longer until 45 creeps up on me. Not sure what I would do. I usually don't do much for my birthday so I'm afraid I can't be of much help.

  157. I think your current plans sound pretty great!

  158. I'd watch White Collar and eat chocolate!

  159. I haven't had mine yet, but since it is in February and Michigan is always dreary and gray, I would probably get a large white chocolate mocha, curl up under a quilt, and watch a tv series. Such a party animal!

  160. Oh my, 45 was a long time ago! I'm sure I had a good time...whatever I did. :)

  161. I love your Pinwheel pattern!

  162. For any birthday, my favorite thing is to go somewhere like a ballet, concert, opera, etc. with my husband, so I hope I can do that on my 45th as well! Thanks for the generous giveaway! sarah@forrussia.org

  163. I'm hoping that my 45th is spent somewhere luxurious and relaxing, but it will most likely be full of 3 teenage boys.

  164. I think lunch and a movie with your son is a super way to spend your birthday. Add in some fancy chocolate or cake just because those are always good at a celebration.

  165. I don't know but for my 50th this year I eat lunch with family in a tiny little diner. The only one in Salt Rock it has been open and closed for about 75 years. It was fun! Happy Birthday my friend!

  169. Did you know that if you don't celebrate your birthday you won't get any older. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

  170. I stopped at my 39th but I had to get going again when my daughter celebrated her 39th too! Happy Birthday. Thanks.

  171. Your son is amazing. I have one like him. Happy Birthday! Thanks for the giveaway. I can't remember about my 45th I am sure it was great. I have a husband that spoils me.

  172. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! Honestly, I don't remember what I did on my 45th. Hubby thru me a surprise party for my 40th (while he was here and the kids and I were still in Tulsa, trying to sell our house). Hubby also threw me a surprise party (Superbowl Sunday party) on my 50th, last year. We still haven't had time to celebrate either of our birthdays this year. We'll get to them sometime this summer. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I still like having birthdays.

  176. I never actually turned 45, as it turns out. I was 29 for a few months (ok, a few decades), then I hit 50 and decided to have one of those birthday things every year :) I've taught my husband and children well - my birthday is celebrated with a steak dinner @ The Keg, plus I receive crafty gift cards and the annual "kiss on the cheek while wearing a growly face" from the boys :)

  177. We went out to dinner with family

    ReplyDelete
  178. Hmm, 45 was not all that long ago but don't remember anything special. We always get to pick our birthday dinner and I usually pick steak. Years just don't mean that much to me-they are experience points!

  179. I'd want to celebrate it with the people I love. Thanks for the lovely giveaway.
