Another Baby Shower Gift - Car Quilt

This was a quilt that was for one of Rebecca's leaders at church.

It is a super simple strip quilt.  Tanya made  the top and I quilted and bound it.

Here is the back.  The binding is a orange pearl bracket. This is a quilt made of fabric completely from stash.

Monkey Rag Quilt

This rag quilt has a red fabric monkey print and blue chevron print.

The back of the quilt is blue flannel.

We have a ton of rag quilts we have never blogged about, so plan on a lot more in the next little bit.

Exercise and Eating Better

I know that exercise has nothing to do with quilting, but that is where a lot of my free time has been going lately.  My right knee has next to no cartilage in it and I have arthritis. It has been giving me problems so I got a viscosupplement injection in it the middle of June.  I  have been walking a lot lately, at least 3-4 miles a day and up to 10 miles and doing water aerobics three times a week.  We have been trying to eat much healthier as a family. We gave up drinking any soda in January, we were both huge Diet Coke fans.  We have started to do Bountiful Baskets - Food Co-op. We have cut out most eating out and processed foods.  Here is one the different meals Tanya came up with.  A lot of meals from scratch.  The kids are not so enthusiastic about the change in meals.

Anyway I have lost 50 pound, still a long ways to go.  Tanya is slowing jumping on exercise bandwagon, but bronchitis and asthma have caused  her problems most of summer.

Quilt for Julia

Recently we moved Julia from a toddler bed to a twin size bed.  That means she needs a new quilt for her bed.  Tanya designed a new simple pattern and chose fabric.

The only problem is she couldn't decide which color she liked best.  Julia seemed to like both.

In our typical fashion, we are doing two larger twin size quilts (80 by 100). One for Julia, and one to sell. We will make decision when they are done.

Of course the fabric was by Tanya's favorite designer Me and My Sister Designs.  It is from the collection HI-DE-HO. Julia liked the flowers. butterfly's and dragonfly's.

Julia has been supervising and thinks it should already be done.

Snowball thought this was a great place to hang out as well.
