Wool will shrink more than cotton and cotton more than polyester. If you use one type of wadding/batting perhaps do a shrink test on a crib size quilt to establish the percentage that you need to add to all quilt tops that you plan on using that wadding/batting in.Jenny Wrenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09229200443417858634noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2035065886211353468.post-50002824156128200102013-04-11T14:58:38.369-06:002013-04-11T14:58:38.369-06:00lovein' those fabrics.lovein' those fabrics.Carrie P.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10063988589711911820noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2035065886211353468.post-45256607350904943402013-04-11T14:31:29.493-06:002013-04-11T14:31:29.493-06:00To decide on size, I measure my actual mattress to...To decide on size, I measure my actual mattress top, add the drop to where I want it to fall on the bed frame, add more to length if I want a tuck under the pillows. Whatever it comes out is the size I make it. My bed has a long drop to the floor because the mattress and box spring are really fat, so using a pre-determined size wouldn't work. Some people have dust ruffles and some don't, so that makes a difference, too.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2035065886211353468.post-48517571341295417782013-04-11T07:25:10.145-06:002013-04-11T07:25:10.145-06:00Beautiful colors you are using. I am doing a postage stamp quilt right now in similar fashion (smaller bits and smaller quilt) - my 'pre-cuts' are the trimmed down left overs from prior projects - so very scrappy. BUT just love this teal colour going on right here - going to be great!!!Vroomans' Quiltshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07258050499246235109noreply@blogger.com
