James is home and we have more Granny's

James is home and doing good.  They gave him all the good drugs and he does not even want to take them such a funny kid.  He is sore but doing well the bar does not show its size well in the image its about 1 1/2 feet long its way bigger then I expected.
Now that leap day is behind us and all the give away's given away its time to march forward with the march of the Granny Squares.  Here are 2 that were sitting half sewn missing 4 white squares on the corners from the first group I sewed.
And here are 4 yellow ones my wife kinda laughed at my yellow and pink flowers how they stick out. Oh well they are yellow and I like them.
The black and white ones show up crappy in the light inside my house.  When these quilts get done I promise better pictures outside.  It actually snowed and I never seem to finish during the day to get pictures out side but will work on getting better pictures.  And last but not least I ended up with 2 of my 5 X 5 blocks one in yellow and one in back/white.  I am now up to 27 granny squares that is after giving away 2 to Elizabeth.  And I have I think 15 of the 5 X 5 blocks.  I have 2 more 5 X 5 blocks in blue on the table half sewn and I have 8 Granny's in blue half sewn that will put me over the amount I need for the 5 x 5 I figure 3 rows of blocks then some sashing around them for those and the granny's I figure 4 rows by 5 so at least 5 more blocks I need for them so I am getting close to the finish of my block fest to get 3 granny quilts and 1 5 X 5 quilt out of these.  I am sure some are sick of me working on these but they have been a lot of fun.

  1. Glad your son is home and doing well - ouch, feel for him as I had rods removed, not fun. Kids are much more rescilient.

  9. Good news about James. I know why your wife laughed, but when the blocks are all together, those are going to be nice spots of color. Love 25-patches. They are so much fun to do!
