Exercise and Eating Better

I know that exercise has nothing to do with quilting, but that is where a lot of my free time has been going lately.  My right knee has next to no cartilage in it and I have arthritis. It has been giving me problems so I got a viscosupplement injection in it the middle of June.  I  have been walking a lot lately, at least 3-4 miles a day and up to 10 miles and doing water aerobics three times a week.  We have been trying to eat much healthier as a family. We gave up drinking any soda in January, we were both huge Diet Coke fans.  We have started to do Bountiful Baskets - Food Co-op. We have cut out most eating out and processed foods.  Here is one the different meals Tanya came up with.  A lot of meals from scratch.  The kids are not so enthusiastic about the change in meals.

Anyway I have lost 50 pound, still a long ways to go.  Tanya is slowing jumping on exercise bandwagon, but bronchitis and asthma have caused  her problems most of summer.

What an inspiration! Congrats on the weight loss and the life style change. Neither is easy but worth the effort.

Good for you and congrats on the weight loss. Processed food and soda are a super no-no for any one.

That is wonderful! It's a hard change to make, but once you do, it's even harder to go back. You find that you actually don't crave the things that you use to. Your children may not like it now, but they will get use to it and thank you for it later.

Congratulations! That is so hard. The walking is very helpful and you are improving so many systems in your body. The children will adjust or go hungry. =) It's better for all of you. 50 pounds! Woohoo!
