First up is the bundle that Tanya picked these are colors she likes. Any way every one needs to encourage Tanya to continue with the sewing she is intimidated by the sewing machine and you need to help her understand how fun this is.
For me we have a more wild one (this one will be made for one of my nephew's)
And a more patriotic one which I will most likely sell
In addition to our finding material for the quilt along (we will make the first block tonight and get it posted Monday) I have been working on quilting my sister's top. I completed the sewing of this top a while back and just now have the quilting done. I did a echo pattern on all the sides of the 2 1/2 inch blocks (strait lines not around each one but any way you know what I mean) it took me forever a lot longer then I expected not sure how soon I will do that again but it looks cool. I lost the desire to bind it the same day 2 days back while quilting it. So it will be some time next week. Also next week they are doing a shop hop here in Utah. And I think I have gone quilting nuts because I am taking off a couple days of work so I can go visit all the shops. Maybe I will bring my camera and show off a little of each shop. Has any one done a shop hop before? If so what did you like most about it?

I live in the western suburbs of Chicago, and we have shop hops several times a year. I love them. We get to check out tools/notions we don't have, new patterns and fabrics, and we usually meet other local quilters, too.
Tanya, don't be afraid of the machine. My youngest son made a quilt when he was just 12, using my old Kenmore. He decided earlier this week, that when he moves out, he wants that Kenmore, even tho he hasn't sewn on it in 6+ years. He want's to make another quilt one of these days when he finally get some time.
The quilt looks great! I've done several shop hops and yes...you need 2 days to do the ones here in Utah! What I love is seeing the different things each quilt shop has. Nice to see the variety of fabrics and patterns. I love seeing the patterns created by the shops. The giveaways are great too! Each shop usually has a giveaway or two and getting a completed passport makes you eligible for the grand prizes which are usually pretty great! The best part though is sharing the day with friends. I've done it alone and being with friends is so much better! I haven't decided if I'll be joining in this time but if I do and I see you, I'll be sure to say hello! Have fun!
The three quilts are going to be wonderful! Tanya does have a nice color sense, though I always like what Richard puts together, too. I love shop hops! I've been on them all over the country. In fact, it's our E. TN one this week, too. I did two shops on the way back from Nashville, by myself, the Knoxville shops on Saturday with one friend, and am doing 3 more tomorrow with another friend. I won't get the last four, but I also am out of money, so that's okay. LOL
You will LOVE it! Are you two going together? There are always goodies at each shop. Here, you pick up a pattern at each one, and the pins are nice to collect, too.
