This is the first of many rag quilts being made in attempt to use our huge stash of flannel. We will try not to torture you too much, by just showing one a week.
This one is blue flannel, blue train flannel, and white with yellow and blue dots.
Here is a closeup.
The first few will look pretty basic, towards the end they might get quite interesting as stash gets smaller and smaller and more fabrics combined. Anyone care to guess how many they think we might get without adding anything to stash.

Im guessing it will be a large number hahahahahah. Can you not use the flannel for other items? bibs, burp cloths, saw a great tutorial for a baby/toddler blanket that has the holes in it like the car seats so the blanket doesnt slip off.
I will guess 8. It is probably low...but that is my guess.
Since you said first of 'many' , I'm gonna guess ELEVEN.
Richard and Tanya...another GREAT item I make to go with baby quilts is small washcloths. Flannel on one side and coordinating terry cloth on the other side. I start with the two sides cut into 9X7 pieces with gently rounded (NOT square) corners. I sew them right sides together with a 1/4 - 3/8 seam, leaving a 1 1/2 opening at the top to turn them right side out - easing all the corner fulness flat with a point turner. I top stitch close to the edge, which catches the opening edges and then top stitch again 1/4 away which totally secures the inside edges. I make these for kids and adults. I've made my own personal face washcloths this way for 30+ years. I hate ;) full size washcloths for washing my face. These are PERFECT for baby washcloths and kids messes, etc. With all the lovely colors of terry cloth and flannel prints you can design to your hearts content! My DIL makes them to got with sets of bibs, burp cloths and diaper changing pads. They are her most popular item at Craft Fairs, etc. I've made hundreds of these - everybody loves them!!!

Looks great and there are good ideas in the comments as well. I have a trunk of flannels too that could use some sewing up! I will guess 18..my favorite number :)
