Western Theme Rag Quilt

This Western theme rag quilt is one of several that Tanya has made recently. 

 All the front was fabric from our stash.  We did purchase some Kona Bone right before Joann closed for the back.  It is available for sale on Etsy Store.  

Puppy Dog Rag Quilt

This rag quilt was made by Tanya from fabrics in our stash.   Apparently someone thought it was cute, because someone purchased it less than a week after it was added to our Etsy store.  

It has some fun dog fabric, gray minky, and various other gray fabrics.  

 

Yellow and White Rag Quilt

Yellow rag quilt with fabric from stash.  

The squares are the larger 8 1/2 inch blocks.  

The back is the off white minky.

John Deere Girl Quilt #2 and Twin Girls

The purpose of our vacation last week was to deliver this quilt and a similar quilt too it that we posted about Last November.  My brother in law lives in Southern Utah and has spent many a year diving John Deere equipment in the work he does.  So when he had a pair of twin girls we felt it fit to give him a pair of John Deere Rag Quilts.  The first quilt (follow the link above) was made as part of a custom order but was never bought and paid for.  So its now the first of 2 gifts.

It is amazing how much Julia is growing up and how much she wants to help and participate in our quilting adventures. Often she tries to sit on my lap while I quilt or run the pedal while I quilt which tends to make some creative quilting.  Or best of all testing out the quilts we make to make sure they are snuggle enough. For this quilt she wanted to help me take pictures.

I am not sure what I like most in the picture above the cute quilt or the cute smile on Julia's face as she helps me take pictures.  Below is the twins that received these quilts their baby blessing is what prompted our trip and this was the first time Tanya and I had seen the twins and got to hold them.

Monkey and Dot Rag quilt

This quilt was finished the middle of last year and this blog post created but never posted.

John Deere Quilt Girl Version

This is a custom rag quilt that was requested.  It gave me nothing but trouble when ordering fabric.

I accidentally ordered a fat quarter instead of half of yard of the one fabric. Then I ordered a half yard and they sent me flannel instead of the cotton I ordered.

This is super small about 32 by 39 inches.

I think it turned out rather cute. I have had it boxed up and ready to send, but the customer never bothered purchasing it. 

Truck and Car Rag Quilt

This rag quilt is made of truck and car print fabric and a blue chevron.

Purple Butterfly Rag Quilt

This rag quilt is made of two fabrics on front Angry Birds and a black and silver dot.

Heart Rag Quilt

Tanya quit her job about 3 weeks ago to be a stay at home mom.  She has been sick almost every days since.  She gave up the other day on taking pictures for her self of the stack of rag quilts that we have finished over the last month so she sent Rebecca our 17 year old daughter out to take them.  She did not take the time to make picture as nice as Tanya would have but it is a start.

This rag quilt has two heart prints and pale pink fabric.

Elephant Rag Quilt

We finally got around to getting pictures of rag quilts. Plan on a lot of posts about them in the next few weeks.

Bronco & Denim Quilt

 This was a Christmas gift for another nephew.  We paired it with denim and a orange cotton.  I know in the pictures it does not look orange but you are just going to have to trust me that it is.  This is another post that was meant to be posted last year and well got put off, but it was loved when it was received.

Having another color, instead of just Bronco Fabric and denim helped keep the weight to a more reasonable weight.

Angry Bird Rag Quilt

 This another rag quilt that will be added to our Etsy store. It is made of Angry Bird fabric and a black and silver polka dot fabric. The back is gray.

This quilt was completed by Tanya, she really enjoys making the rag quilt and picking out the material for them.  I think this one will be popular.

Car & Denim Rag Quilt

This is a gift for a nephew that didn't get a quilt a couple years ago.

It is made up of  8 1/2 inch blocks of denim and car print fabric.  The back is a tie dye blue flannel.  This quilt is really heavy.  

Wheelchair Rag Quilt

This rag quilt is a gift for Tanya's mom.  Yes it looks like a baby size  quilt.

 We made it out of fabric she likes.  It small so it is useful as a quilt when she is in her wheelchair.  It is one of two quilts  being made for Christmas.

We will be posting several Christmas gifts, but only the ones of people that don't have internet or follow our blog.  The rest will be posted after Christmas.  

Pink Elephant Rag Quilt

This is the girl version of  the same rag quilt we did in blue.  This has pink and gray elephant and chevron print.  The back is a bright pink back.

Blue Elephant Rag Quilt

We have been quilting, just haven't took the time to take pictures or make posts.  

This cute rag quilt has chevron print and blue and gray elephant print.

Last week we sold our first quilt in the United Kingdom.  We have previously only sold in US and Canada. We were pretty close on shipping cost there, however we also sold a table runner and lost money big time on shipping. 

Flag Rag Quilt

Richard has a cousin with a kid about Jared's age ie 10 that wanted to make a quilt .  

 He had the idea of recycling old flag

We decided on a blue flannel for the back.

We added some off white to round out the quilt.

The squares were 5 inch instead of our normal 6. 

He helped to sew x's while Richard sewed them together to form the rows.

We got it done all in one Saturday.  We washed it, although we sent it home wet.  We know what to expect with  a rag quilt and didn't want to clog his families washing machine.  We went back to the traditional non high-efficiency washing machine about a month ago. Too many problems, with all our rag quilts and kids not checking pockets.
