Tanya and I have struggled for a long time on how to take some decent pictures of our quilts in our small house with no room. With both of us working full time on opposite schedules, there is only weekends to take them somewhere along mixed with all the other weekend plans. We decided we would invest some money and buy lights and a back drop, and tripod for the camera. This picture here was taken long after the picture shoot was over, but by the time we were too tired to put it away.
Tanya and I talked about what our plans for the day was. I wanted to find a couple quilts take good pictures of them and figure out what we liked. Tanya well she had other things in mind. She first gathered up all the completed quilts. These 7 boxes represent the bulk of the quilts that are either listed for sale on Etsy or are planed to giveaway.
Well needless to say my idea of just a couple shots, was tossed out the window. Tanya had other things in mind. I was working on the below quilt (the 4 corners were finished this weekend, the center has been done for months). Tanya took 1 quilt at a time and put it on the quilt rack, took its picture and then threw it into a pile. It was funny that when the pile was almost done and we planned to take a fun picture of it, it fell over for the bulk of it. Any way an amazing pile of quilts.
This is what I have completed over this weekend. I have finally finished the quilt top for my queen size bed. I was not in the mood to figure out how to take a picture of it inside, so I took it out and tossed it on the lawn. The big blocks in the quilt each have 100 2 1/2 inch blocks. so approximately 1200 brown block, 1500 turquoise blocks, and a couple hundred tan blocks tossed in on the center star. Below you can see that other then the center of the star this quilt top is a copy of my
Richard's Star pattern that I made a year and a half ago.
This post shows just the middle of the quilt previous to this weekend.
Here are more pictures taken outside.
Before coming inside, Rebecca thought it would be a good idea to take some pictures of our weeds. What do you know there are a couple flowers mixed in.
Any way the top of our queen size quilt is done. Now to decide what to do on the back. Next week by the way, Princess Julia turns 2 and to celebrate we will be doing a giveaway for her B-Day on Friday.
