Story Book Quilts

This quilt top was done by Tanya.  It has fabric from the story book line, as well as some additional yellows.

The back of the quilt is yellow cotton from Kona.

The next quilt top is a  peach 9 patch also from story book line.

This quilt top was also made by Tanya.

The back of the quilt is off white minky.  Both of these quilts were made for a lady Tanya went to high school with.  When we had Julia in our late 30's early 40's Tanya decided to make a quilt for everybody her age that she went to high school with that had a baby from that point. There were only 49 people in her class and not many have babies in their forties.   She had twin girls at age 43.  This is only the 3 rd quilt we have given to former classmates.

Broken Chevron

This is a quilt that is similar to one that was  requested for a customer on etsy.

We decided that we would do narrower strips of white the next one we do.  I don't know what to refer to this quilt as, so I have just called it Broken Chevron.  Any suggestions for a name?

There was a lot of wasted fabric in the making of this quilt, so Richard figured out a way to have a lot less waste. The back is leftovers.  It is quilted in dense vertical lines in front, everywhere but the white lines.

I don't know if I like the front or the back better.
This fabric line used in this quilt is Petal Poetry Swirl by Exclusively Quilters.
Look for a similar quilt coming up soon for a repeat customer.  This one is available on our Etsy store.

Custom HST Twin Size Quilt from Reunion

This is a custom quilt we did for a customer on Etsy.  A funny point about this quilt is the twin size quilt went to the same city, but different customer as the toddler one we already sold on Etsy.

There were not any fat quarter bundles of this fabric left, since this line is 2+years old.  We ended up buying quantities of fabric in 1/2 yard and yard increments.  Look for more reunion quilts in the future.

Don't miss out on Craftsy's Whale of a Flash Sale! Just 48 hours to enjoy up to 70% off fabric, yarn & kits before they sell out. Click quick to save! Hurry, offer expires Aug 22nd at midnight. Shop Craftsy's Whale of a Flash Sale!

We explained to the customer that it would be near impossible to find large enough quantities of one fabric from this line to the back.  They asked for a horizontal and vertical line across the back of triangles. I think it turned out pretty great.

Overall our pictures are getting better, but the larger size is more difficult to photograph.  I tried hanging the quilt across the backdrop frame, it started to tip over.  I finally took pictures on our bed.  Where do you take larger quilt pictures?

Orange, Gray, Yellow and Blue Glimma Rag quilt

Another fun rag quilt.  I think this one turned out fantastic. And of course it has my favorite orange in it.

My favorite picture is this last one.

Dr Suess

A few months ago we found on sale some Dr Seuss material.  I grabbed a bunch of it and threw together this quilt.  One thing I realized after piecing the top was that this quilt is WAY TOO BUSY.  I think it might drive a baby crazy looking at it.  I know it does me.  So what do we do? Yes we make the back too busy too.

I am not saying I don't like the quilt.  I just think I well blundered.  I lucky have tons of material left over so I can do a better try 2.  My next quilt will have solids mixed in  with the Dr Seuss prints so that your brain can register what I made.

Have you ever finished a quilt out of material that you love and then pondered the mistakes you made making it?  Well that is where I am with this quilt.  I love it, but then again I don't.

Turtle Rag Quilt

Today I would like to share a new cute rag quilt from Tanya.  This adorable quilt in green (I think of it as Jared's color).  The thing I like most about rag quilts is how simple and adorable they are.  Out of all of the quilts we make to give away or sell the bulk of them seem to always be rag quilts.  We sell our Rag Quilt Pattern on Craftsy.  If you would like a free copy of it hop on over to Craftsy and comment on the pattern there or like it, or follow me on Craftsy.  Make sure to comment here on the blog or email me so that I can send you the pattern.  Speaking of Craftsy they are having a giveaway that I would encourage you to enter.

Pink, Teal and Gray Glimma Rag Quilt

I so love my wife's choice of colors.  Or maybe I like the designers choice that my wife picks.  Any way this beautiful quilt was made out of the Line called Glimma.  It is one that I enjoy much and have made a few quilts from

Tanya has been getting much better at the picture taking.  Though as you can see our back drop has a couple wrinkles in it and we have no desire to iron it.  But maybe we should any way.

This bottom is one I like.  Though I like the lighting better on the top one.  Any way its a pretty quilt.

Car Quilt

Tanya and I made this car quilt for a family at church who recently had a baby.  This is the 3rd quilt we have made with this material it is a interesting print from I believe Australia or  at least made for there as some of the signs show kangaroo crossings.

Each quilt we made used basically the same designs.  I like but don't like the material at the same time.  It is cute but because of the size of the prints its hard to figure out what to make of the material but all in all I think it turned out well.

Purple Owl Quilt

Tanya has been up to her old tricks again making cute rag quilts here is a cute purple owl quilt.  She also took the time recently to sit down and take pictures of many of our quilts that we have not yet posted and those that did not have great pictures I think she did a fantastic job.

For this quilt she had 2 alternating squares on the front with the purple flannel on the back.

Orange Creamsicle Quilt

When a customer through Etsy requested custom orange and white diagonal quilt, the first thing we both thought of was a creamsicle.

It was finished last night, pictures were taken today and its ready to be mailed.

Here is the back, another wonky log cabin and stripes.

It turned out quilt nice.

Next week we will have another giveaway for Tanya's birthday.  Have you ever won a giveaway and not received a prize?  What do you do?  Tanya has several that she has never received the item over the last year or so and never contacted them.  If it was you, would you like to know?

Here is a picture of a peony from our yard, thank goodness for photo shop. Weeds were edited out.
