I have finished another runner. This one is 2 blocks and a strip left over from the quilt I posted yesterday. I have had so much fun working with this material I got from In The Boon Docks that I won in the fugly giveaway. I have 2 more runners that will be made. I had planned to do them yesterday but I ran out of umph. I did get the larger quilt quilted and bound. I got this one quilted and bound about 9:30 last night so it took over the night to make it though the wash and I pulled it out this morning to take pictures.
This one is going to go to work with me today and go on my desk. Fug Runner is already there with 3 plants on it. This one will have a picture of my kids and some nick knacks sitting on it. Again thanks to http://www.intheboondocks.blogspot.com for making this all possible.

Dot's and Flowers - A Giveaway Quilt
Dots and Flowers is my newest complete. It is created with the same material fug runner was from some of the winnings i got from the fugly giveaway. It is any thing but fugly though. I for the first time took my quilt out side for some pictures. The first shot on the right was with flash on the others was with it off. The sun was not high in the sky so I was too much in the shadows better luck next time. Any way this quilt will be one of 4 choices for the winner of our giveaway we are having in conjunction with the birth of Julia Dawn our 4th child.
If you are new to my blog or just not yet gotten around to making a guess now is the time. We have roughly 3 or so weeks tell the baby is born.
Below you you will find links to both of the giveaways. 4 chances to win. Make sure you put your guesses in now before its too late.
Thanks again to http://www.intheboondocks.blogspot.com who gave me this wonderful fabric.

Dayton's Quilt
Dayton's Quilt for the lack of any other name I could think of is finally done. I have decided I will never do a rag quilt this big again and I am going to be more picky about materials on the next one I do also. This quilt ended up 12 blocks wide by 14 blocks long. I did not want to do the 6 inch blocks (5 inches after the 1 inch in the seams) that I have done on all the other rag quilts I have done so I went out and bought new rulers I bought 8 1/2 inch wide square and long ruler and used to make these blocks. My brother picked out boring black flannel for the back and he picked 3 fabrics.
The black was a great material the other 2 not so great I don't think they were 100% cotton and not being all so skilled at this I did not know any better. The blue material is quite stiff and even after washing 2 times never did fray at all the red material was a little better. You can also see the white batting that my brother bought sticking out the seams on many of the squares. Maybe because the quilt is so huge it did not wash and their for fray well. But hey its done. Any way this is a big one for me and I am happy to call it my first finish for March. It measured in at 90 inches wide and 105 inches long.

James is home and we have more Granny's
James is home and doing good. They gave him all the good drugs and he does not even want to take them such a funny kid. He is sore but doing well the bar does not show its size well in the image its about 1 1/2 feet long its way bigger then I expected.
Now that leap day is behind us and all the give away's given away its time to march forward with the march of the Granny Squares. Here are 2 that were sitting half sewn missing 4 white squares on the corners from the first group I sewed.
And here are 4 yellow ones my wife kinda laughed at my yellow and pink flowers how they stick out. Oh well they are yellow and I like them.
The black and white ones show up crappy in the light inside my house. When these quilts get done I promise better pictures outside. It actually snowed and I never seem to finish during the day to get pictures out side but will work on getting better pictures. And last but not least I ended up with 2 of my 5 X 5 blocks one in yellow and one in back/white. I am now up to 27 granny squares that is after giving away 2 to Elizabeth. And I have I think 15 of the 5 X 5 blocks. I have 2 more 5 X 5 blocks in blue on the table half sewn and I have 8 Granny's in blue half sewn that will put me over the amount I need for the 5 x 5 I figure 3 rows of blocks then some sashing around them for those and the granny's I figure 4 rows by 5 so at least 5 more blocks I need for them so I am getting close to the finish of my block fest to get 3 granny quilts and 1 5 X 5 quilt out of these. I am sure some are sick of me working on these but they have been a lot of fun.
