I finished my sisters Quilt top. I won the Jelly Roll
In this post from the monthly completes giveaway at
Such a Sew and Sew my wife did not like the Jelly roll race quilts and for lack of a more original idea I sewed them into strips of 5 and then cut them up and then sewed them back together. so just a million 2 1/2 inch blocks.
I don't think I would ever buy a Jelly Roll as its not my favorite mode of material (it just seems thinner and flimsier then other materiel) but I did love the color in this Jelly Roll and its in many of my 5 X 5 blocks and my Granny Squares.
For those that have been counting I have finished 3 tops this weekend. Not to be a slacker I was well on my way to doing a 4th top tell I realized I was shy on the 2 projects I was in the middle of.
My 5 X 5 quilt (yep making one for me) Is going to have 12 completely different blocks similar to
Burst of Colors but no duplicates. So I had 11 blocks and had never taken the time to finish the 12th. So here is my gray block.
While I was at it i sewed together my last 2 Granny Squares. Then totally forgot to take a picture of them (it was a orange and purple I did tonight) My wife picked my pattern and then I sewed the right side to each block. I got tired and would have finished it but I figured 3 tops for a weekend is fine have to have something to finish on Monday. That is unless Julia decides to come out and play.
Rebecca found a cute baby blanket pattern in a magazine that I had on quilting and sewing and after a small bit of negotiating on her part I was willing to part with some flannels that I would allow her to start making a blanket for her baby sister its a cute pattern and will share more as she progresses on it.
Any way no baby yet. Off and on contractions. We do have a 11 am Dr apt so maybe news when I next post.
