The Orange and the Gray's!
A couple days ago I got into the mood again to work on my "Orange and Gray" quilt. I have worked off and on this year, on this quilt. The funny thing is I don't know what size quilt I am doing for sure. I have mulled over the idea of making a queen size for my bed (not sure if Tanya could live with it) or making a twin size or even lap size. For that matter I could make a few baby quilts.
I have 30 plus different orange fabrics and same with gray fabrics (Well maybe a few more shades of orange then the gray). The design goal I have for the quilt is 5 x 5 blocks like below in rows alternating with gray blocks also 5 x 5. I plan to put strips of gray between the gray and orange alternating blocks with orange corner stones.
Before making these newest 11 blocks, I had 13 orange ones. A grand total of 24 orange blocks. I think my gray blocks are in the range of 15 or 16 last I checked. If I do a lap size I might already have enough. If I do a queen I still have a lot to go.
Sadly I had to put the blocks back away today and get to work on my SewBatik challenge quilt. So far I have finished 6 of 9 blocks. I had stopped working on this last week when I had ran out of brown. The first time I ordered more, I accidentally ordered the color I wanted in Rayon. I don't even know what Rayon is, but its definitely felt wrong. Anyone ever used Rayon? I have some and don't know what to do with it, just know its wrong for my quilt.
What secret projects have you all been up to over the last few weeks?

For the love of GREEN!
I know I should not start this post saying that I am not into St Patrick's Day, but I don't really enjoy the day. When I was a kid I was that poor kid that always forgot green at school and every one took turns pinching me. Well this year my son Jared is now at that cute age of 8 where kids will be kids. I wonder how he will do?
If you have followed along much at our blog, you will know that Jared is a HUGE fan of GREEN! In the picture above you can see his Creeper costume that he wore for Halloween last year.
From the images I could find on my blog showing things we have done green in the past you can see that we do like a couple things green. We have the John Deere quilts we made as gifts last year to green solo coups (I know I got the color wrong for the song) to this pile below which is for Jared's green helix quilt which other then picking the blocks we have not yet really started it.
But for the best green thing we have ever done it would be the first quilt I made for Jared. It is called the Green Quilt of Awesomeness. Follow that link to read more about it or just look at the happy picture below of Jared in it. Hope you have a Happy Green Day today.

Orange, Orange, and More Orange!
This is a post is by Richard I am a lover of Orange. Tanya not so much. I love the Orange of flames in a fire to the orange of blocks in a quilt.
I love the orange of a pumpkin being held by a cute child to the orange in the layers of a child's quilt.
I love the orange in my 25 x 25 blocks being created for my orange and grey quilt to the mock up of the heart that I wanted to make for Tanya (she made me use blue in her heart go figure).
I love the orange of fall leaves and I very much LOVE my orange color blast quilt.
When I got home from work today my wife gave me a Orange Shirt. Hum I think we have taken this a bit far I do not like the orange shirt as well as the orange quilt! What about you?
