Orange Creamsicle Quilt

When a customer through Etsy requested custom orange and white diagonal quilt, the first thing we both thought of was a creamsicle.

It was finished last night, pictures were taken today and its ready to be mailed.

Here is the back, another wonky log cabin and stripes.

It turned out quilt nice.

Next week we will have another giveaway for Tanya's birthday.  Have you ever won a giveaway and not received a prize?  What do you do?  Tanya has several that she has never received the item over the last year or so and never contacted them.  If it was you, would you like to know?

Here is a picture of a peony from our yard, thank goodness for photo shop. Weeds were edited out.

Actually that happened a few times to me with SMS giveaways. I haven't contacted them, i presume that they realise because they don't get thank you they realise, but DH just said they probably just think i'm really rude! I've also won a few patterns where they emailed me to verify the address but then never sent the pattern. If anyone knows a delicate way of dealing with it i'd love to know. I'm British, I wouldn't shout if I were on fire!

I think Richard is happy, since he got to use orange. Turned out cute. My peonies are not open yet. As for not receiving a 'win', one time it took half a year. She'd packaged the prizes (more than one winner) put them in her van, a few days later she had a wreck, then forgot about the pkgs. When the van was fixed, she still didn't notice the pkgs, waiting to be mailed. I did finally get my prize. Sorry Tanya hasn't received some of hers. That isn't fair.

sure, there are a few prizes i didn't get, but they were from a business and they did send them to the mail room. So it was either the mailroom staff or the courier.

When I have been slow sending out prizes, I tend to include extras by way of apology. but I do keep in contact and explain the delay.

I would politely contact and let the sender know it didn't arrive. it could be an innocent reason or it could be lost.

I am so sorry that happen to Tanya. I did not receive my journal in a swap. And the journal I sent to middle east still had not arrived in November. Have not yet but do plan to follow up though.

Lovely quilt! Love all the orange, and the super cute back.
Once I did not receive a giveaway, but assumed it was lost in the post.

As always, your quilts are brilliant, and yes it does remind me of ice cream. I'm so envious of your skill, but keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing what you turn out next.

Creamsicle is a delicious finish, perfect for summer. I have always received a giveaway or swap I have participated in, and have never heard of this happening. How disappointing! I like to believe in the good-heartedness of quilter's, and I find it hard to believe it is an intentional slight. Exchanging fabric is so special, and adding those fabrics from other quilters, (into our own quilts) brings more meaning to the quilt. Perhaps I am naïve though, as lately there seems to be some shady goings on in blogland (most recently at the accuquilt block contest)

Sasha's DH brings up a good point and I want to add that a couple times I have not received a thank you or reply when I have sent fabric to winners. I have never had a package go missing when sending fabric purchased from my Etsy shop, so it did not really occur to me that perhaps it was not received. I have hesitated to contact recipients to inquire about it, especially when I have tracking that indicates delivery was made. I just assumed they are busy busy.

Very nice quilt. For the giveaway prizes I have had one that I never received, I e-mailed the giveaway host and it turns out she just forgot and sent me the prize the next day. Thankfully all of the items I have sent as giveaway prizes have reached their recipients (when I ship for prizes I make sure to spend the extra dollar for package tracking at UPS).

I've had it happen twice, from the same blogger. I contacted her each time, and she apologized and said she had forgotten, and would send them right away - but didn't. You can't make a fuss - it's not like you paid for the item. I just don't enter her giveaways any more.
